MOL faces several allegations against it. For instance, in December 2009, Croatia's state prosecutors

began an investigation into the purchase of a 22% stake in INA (by MOL in 2008, which saw MOL

increase its stake to a controlling 47%. In May 2010, Gazdasagi Versenyhivatal (GVH), the Hungarian

competition authority, launched a probe into the wholesale fuel pricing practices of MOL, suspecting

excessively high wholesale prices charged by MOL in recent years. According to GVH, the suspicion

had emerged that MOL's wholesale prices on fuel markets, since January 2006, may be judged

excessively high, which could in turn have a visible impact on retail prices.

Such allegations can have a negative impact on the revenue growth of the group, besides denting

its brand image.
