Public transport

There are a lot of advantages and disadvantages of public transport. Nowadays the public transpot is become more and more popular. As a regular commuter, I well know these two aspects of public transport (especially bus), which I am going to mention below.

Some good points from the public transportation.People especially students choose public tranport because it is an economic way of traveling. For instance, a bus ticket is about 300-400Ft for each person no matter how long or short their distance is. It is even much cheaper when the customer have a monthly ticket and they can travel as many times as they want. Money saving is therefore the main the reason why the public transport attracts so many customers, specially when the petrol is as expensive as nowadays.

The second advantage the public tansport brings to us is that the bus-traveler can avoid adverse weather effects and pollution.

The last good aspect of the public transport is to reduce traffic jam and congestion in rush hour. Clearly, a bus can transport nearly 100 people in small space, many buses means thousands of people and it greatly contribute to the traffic jam reduction.

Some bad points the public transport brings to us. Many passengers suffer from waiting for very long time to catch a bus, it means they can be late for school, office or a very important interview. Normally, the passengers can control the time if they regularly travel by bus, but a crowded bus can pass your bus stop and go straight especially in peak hours when school and office stop working.

Burglars on the vehicle are another disadvantage of travelling by public tranportation.They take advantages of the crowd, when there are too many people standing on the bus in a limited space and the other passengers are not vigilant.

The vehicle is often owercrowded and dirty. The public transport is might be dangerous for pregnant or elderly people.

There are also so many accidents happened on the bus. When passengers go up or down and the driver is not careful enough to open and close the door, accidents are easy to occur.
